West Chester United to Play Aegean Hawks (MD) in Region I Open Cup Qtr.

The 2015 US Adult Soccer Association Werner Fricker Open Cup will be the last. USASA has opted to discontinue play of their Open Cup. As a result, until any other plans are made, West Chester is the last East Penn Open Cup Champion. As they move into the Regional rounds, they vie for the last regional championship and eventually title of last national USASA Werner Fricker Open Cup Champions.

West Chester is a four time consecutive East Penn Open Cup Champion. United plays in the United Soccer League of Pennsylvania one of Region I’s Elite US Amateur Leagues. In the USLPA’s Major Division, West Chester is currently in ninth place having played 10 games. They currently have a record of (1-6-3)*.

Aegean Hawks have won seven state Open Cup titles in nine years. They were the 2009 National US Amateur Champions. Playing in the Washington Premier League, the Hawks won eight straight championships from 2006 to 2009. The WPL is one of Region I’s Elite US Amateur Leagues. The Hawks finished the fall 2014 season in second place with a record of (6-1-2)*.

In 2014, the Maryland Bays brought home the National USASA Werner Fricker Open Cup.
