Ukrainian-American Sports Center to host Region I Finals

On Sunday, June 21, US Adult Soccer’s Region I will hold their Cup Finals to determine the three clubs that will advance to the National Cup Finals to be held at the National Championship Series in Virginia Beach. Six clubs in three cups will take part in the event.

ASA Charm City FC of Maryland will take on Club Napoli of Connecticut in the Gerhard Mengel Over-30 Cup at 12:00pm.

In the Werner Fricker Open Cup local side, West Chester United (EPSA) will take on Newtown Pride FC of Connecticut at 1:30pm. As this is the last year USASA will host a National Open Cup, West Chester has a chance to make some unique history. A club from the United Soccer League, a league Fricker helped to found, and East Penn, a state association Fricker was president of, has the chance to win the cup named after him. All of this is not to mention that the match will take place in Horsham, PA a place most certainly Fricker’s.

Fighting for the prestigious US Amateur Cup are the Maryland Bays and the Battery Park Gunners of Massachusetts. The Amateur Cup Regional Final will take place at 3:00pm.
