NY Greek Americans: ENYSSA 2018 Amateur Cup Champs

EASTERN NEW YORK, On Tuesday, November 28 the NY Greek Americans captured the 2017-2018 Eastern New York title of the US Amateur Cup. The win, a 6:5 penalty win over the Pancyprian Freedoms, gives the Greek Americans a slot in the USASA Region I qualifying rounds.

Region I via twitter announced that this cup season the Greeks are the first club to qualify for regionals which are scheduled to begin in April of next year.

The Greek Americans won the National US Amateur Cup title in 2014. They play in the legendary Cosmopolitan soccer league in the first division. As of 12/2/2017 they hold a league record of (3-3-2).

No stranger to cup competitions, the Greek Americans are set to play in the ENYSSA Final of the Werner Fricker Open Cup on Tuesday, December 5 at 8:00pm in Tibbetts Brooke Park in Yonkers, NY. The opponent? The dual national champions from 2016-2017 cup season the Lansdowne Bhoys.
