Milwaukee Sport Club: 2019 US National Donauschwaben Tournament Champions

AKRON, OH –  On Sunday, May Twenty-Sixth, Two Thousand Nineteen the Milwaukee Sport Club won their 6th US National Donauschwaben Championship and took home the Mike Talan Wanderpokal.

The Sport club has been in the final of the Major Division in this competition three years in a row finally coming out victorious in 2019. The club has won the National Title 5 times before in 1975, 1981, 1992, 1993, and 2013. They have also hosted the tournament 5 times in 1979, 1983, 1993, 2003, and 2013.

Group play in this year’s competition ended with Cleveland Concordia in first with a (4-0-1) record and Milwaukee in second place with a (3-1-1) record.

The final was a 1:0 win for the Champion side that went the full regulation time plus overtime.

It wasn’t all downhill for Cleveland Concordia, who’s Over-35 Team placed first in that division over the hosts Akron GFS Eagles.
